When I first got the idea to make images for my journal I didn’t think I’d share them with others, or come up with a name for what I was doing, but after reading Hilarie Burton’s book Grimoire Girl I had a whole new perspective on my journal, journaling in general, and the graphics I had been making.
With time came the decision to share the graphics I’d been making, and printing to put in my journal.
Each time I look at my journal, I think first about the knowledge I want to keep hold of, then about the memories I want to keep and treasure. After that comes what I believe now… and what I have believed in the past… and how I want to remember and reflect on those beliefs.
A lot of what goes in my journals has to do with what I learn while traveling and reading… especially quotes from books… and I will admit I am fond of otherworldly images. Stickers and paintings that are not of reality, but of something fantastical, magical… full of imagination and wonder.
In time, I hope those things will be reflected here on Grimoire Graphics.
