There is something to be said for the lone individual on the trail, they add to the barren world impression, as they go in search of something more.
The purple flowers in this one, echoing the purple from the sky and moon really adds to the image, showing signs of life while keeping the barren aspect as there just seems to be nothing at the end of that road.
